Yellow Lab

The Yellow Lab "Labidochromis caeruleus" is a vibrant African cichlid prized for its striking golden-yellow coloration and bold personality. Native to Lake Malawi, this peaceful yet assertive fish thrives in well-established aquariums with rocky structures and moderate water flow.

Yellow Labs are hardy and beginner-friendly, reaching 2–3 inches at maturity. They do best in groups or established communities with other peaceful cichlids, displaying natural schooling behavior and territorial charm without excessive aggression.

Ideal water parameters: pH 7.5–8.5, temperature 75–80°F, and a 40-gallon breeder tank minimum for small groups. Feed quality cichlid pellets and occasional vegetable matter. Their hardy nature and stunning appearance make them a staple in freshwater cichlid collections.
